Unfortunatley, if your dog suffers with seperation anxiety, we are unable to assist. As we reseve the right to leave the dogs unattended for upto 2 hours, dogs must be able to cope and to get along with upto 2 other resident dogs. To ensure the wellbeing of anxious dogs, we suggest looking for a single dog only host. -
Yes. We are licensed by Rushcliffe Borough Council, rated 5 stars. Licence number AWL-0078. We are also fully insured, DBS certified, Canine First Aid Level 2 certified, and have clean driving licences. We suggest you also have your own insurance for your dog.Are you licensed and insured?

We are licensed to host 3 dogs, however we usually only take 2 at a time. We ensure only dogs we know are hosted together and are suitable for each other. We will discuss with you if we have two dogs for the same period. We also offer exclusive use of houndhaus for an additional fee.How many dogs do you board?

For new dogs that have not stayed with us before, yes. This is an opportunity for you and your pet to check out the houndhaus property and us as hosts. We also can check if we are all compatible. This will be arranged at the earliest time following your booking. This lasts 30 minutes and is free. For some, it may be that your dog simply does not like houndhaus or that we think your dog is not suitable for our family. Unlikely, but it can happen! Any deposit is returned if you or we cancel after the meet and greet. This is a requirement to ensure the best welfare for your dog.Do I need to attend a meet-and-greet?

Dog collar, lead, harness (optional though we recommend these), their bed, crate (if applicable), a favourite toy, food, treats and medication. If a fridge or freezer required please give advanced notice. Please ensure all food items are in clean sealable containers!What do I need to bring for my dog?

As your dog will be living with our family in our home, we need to make sure we are compatible. Some dogs may simply be too large or too strong. Sorry, we do not accept Staffies, Rotties, American Bull dogs or XL Bullys. We are unable to accept dogs with aggression problems towards other dogs or people. We are unable to accept dogs subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.What breeds do you accept?

Our licence requires us to request all dogs that we board are vaccinated. You must as a condition of your booking confirm that your dog has up-to-date vaccinations, flea and worm treatmentsDoes my dog need to vaccinated?

When you drop off your dog, we run through a consent form with you. We ask for your consent to walk outside of the property, walk off lead, take short car journeys, groom your dog, administer medication etc. You can choose to decline consent and we will adhere to your choices.What consent do I have to give?

We recommend that your dog has the kennel cough vaccine, however this is optional. You must ensure your dog is in good health when you drop them off.Does my dog need the Kennel cough vaccine?

We consider dogs from 10 months onwards. They must be toilet trained. There may be an additional fee.Do you take Puppies?

Yes - We have 24 hour video surveillance and alarms. Our garden has high secure fencing.Is your garden and home secure?

We offer the highest levels of welfare to your dog, however, accidents and illness can happen. We are first aid trained and will consult with either your vet or ours (if more pratical) when the need arises. We look after your dog as if it were our own, includind making vet visits if required. Important - we help as much as possible, but *you are responsible for any vet fees*. We suggest you have insurance to cover this.What happens if my dog gets ill or injured during their stay?

No. We only host dogs in our home. When staying with us, they are treated as part of our family and get the level of home-from-home comfort you would expect.Do you use Kennels?

We only board dogs in our own home. We have parking for easy drop offs and collections. We are located in West Bridgford, a ten minute walk from the center. For security, our address will only be shared with you upon application.Where are you based?

We are able to follow and administer your dog's medical schedule. However, we accept no liability when doing this and require you to sign a waiver. Our own dog, Dexter had complex needs in his latter years, so we are used to doing this.My dog requires medication

There will usually always be someone in the house. However, there may be the odd occaision where this cannot be avoided. Any home alone time is kept to less than 3 hours.Will my dog be left alone?

We live in suburbia and need to mindful to our neighbours. If your dog is a persistent barker, or suffers from separation anxiety resulting in barking, it's unlikely we can help. However, if you are unsure please get in touch to discuss further. For new recruits we usually insist on a trial night following a free meet and greet - this allows us to evaluate your pet.My dog barks!

No. We do not offer a traditional doggy day care for your dog. However, for existing clients who have boarded their dog overnight with us, we can occaisionally help out with adhoc daycare requests (we ensure we only ever have a maximum of 3 dogs in the property)Do you offer doggy day care without an overnight stay?
